Green Mountain Energy Financial Reporting and Sustainability

Recent reports, including Newsweek’s Green Rankings and a Harvard Business School study[opens pdf], show “green” companies outperforming the status quo.  The Harvard Study states that sustainable companies “might outperform traditional firms because they are able to attract better human capital, establish more reliable supply chains, avoid conflicts and costly controversies with nearby communities, and engage in more product and process innovations in order to be competitive under constraints that the corporate culture places on the organization.”  As sustainability measures provide positive returns throughout a company, everyone from the CFO to HR begin to take notice.
